Most authors sit at a desk. Tayden writes his stories in between welding, diving, flying, and running heavy equipment. The adventures are real. So are the books.

The Adventures
Tayden earned his welding certification while other kids were still figuring out what they wanted to be. He stick welds real repairs on real machines, laying beads on bucket teeth and steel parts that go right back to work when he is done.
Welding taught him the same thing writing did. Do it right, check your work, and do not quit halfway through a pass.
Tayden is a certified scuba diver, at home under the water where everything goes quiet and strange. Divers learn to stay calm, watch their gauges, and trust their training, and Tayden brings that same steady head to everything else he tries.
If his next book has something moving in the deep water, you will know where it came from.
Tayden grew up around heavy equipment and it shows. He works on the family machines, including the green mini excavator he helps keep running, grinding, fitting, and welding parts so the work can keep moving.
On a job site he is not watching from the fence. He is part of the crew.
Tayden takes flight lessons and is working his way toward the pilot seat for real. He also helped get a youth pilot program going so other kids in his area could get their first taste of flying, the same way he did.
A kid who writes about things hiding in the sky should probably know his way around up there.
Tayden travels with his family and collects stories everywhere he goes. New places, new people, and long roads are research for a writer, and he treats them that way.
Every trip adds a page somewhere. Some of them will turn into books.
